CHAPTER 5: WINTER
Winter is an especially evocative time of the year in the village. It is a season of serenity, stillness, early darkness and melancholy. These images bring you to the icy banks of the Danube and Ipel Rivers; they place you in the frosty fields and forest; and they point you upward to the clouds and smoke that are sometimes indistinguishable in the sky.
