Gabriela's mother, Olga, is the central figure in the Bulisova Family. Born and raised in Chl'aba and now a longtime resident in her retirement, she is the one who thinks about the family as a whole, who connects everyone, who gardens and makes wine, who cooks exquisite meals, who suffers the losses the most. It is through her presence -- and the absences she feels -- that we can experience the village most authentically.
